Welcome to Mighty Muscle Facilities Management – Where Strength Meets Precision!

Our journey began ten years ago in the vibrant college town of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. We started as a humble cleaning company specializing in tidying student apartments at the prestigious University of Alabama. Through hard work, dedication, and a commitment to excellence, we quickly garnered recognition and support from the local community.

As we continued to grow, our passion for providing top-notch service and building solid relationships with our clients attracted numerous contracts, propelling us forward in the facilities management industry. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who have supported us throughout this incredible journey. Your trust and confidence in our abilities have been the driving force behind our success.

However, fate had a unique twist in store for us. The unprecedented challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic compelled us to adapt and find new ways to thrive. Drawing upon our expertise and experience in the cleaning industry, we realized that we could do more than just clean spaces – we could also manage and maintain them.

Embracing this opportunity, we expanded our services beyond cleaning to encompass the entire spectrum of facilities management. With meticulous planning and unwavering determination, we transitioned into a full-service facilities management company, offering comprehensive solutions tailored to the specific needs of our clients.

But our transformation didn’t end there. We boldly decided to invest in our future to accommodate our growing team and enhance our operational capabilities. We proudly announce that we’ve acquired a remarkable 7548-square-foot building in the heart of Ensley, Alabama. This new facility will serve as the central hub for all our operations, allowing us to help our clients better and reach new heights in the industry.

Currently, the Mighty Muscle team is hard at renovating the building to ensure it reflects the same strength and precision that define our services. This new chapter in our journey will empower us to deliver even more exceptional results, exceeding our client’s expectations and setting new standards in facilities management.

Owner

Kathy Scarbrough

Kathy G. Scarbrough is the managing principal of Mighty Muscle Facilities Management. The company’s core competencies are Finance & Business, Facilities Operation& maintenance, project management, Leadership strategy, Sustainability, Communications, and Facility Information Technology Management. The company is a woman-owned, service-disabled, minority-owned small business. Kathy oversees the company’s daily operations, marketing, hiring personnel, and customer satisfaction. She earned a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and an M.B.A. in Finance/Accounting from Regis University. Kathy’s previous careers included Information Intelligence Specialist Petty Officer, U.S. Navy, Marine Corps Reserve, Field Service Engineer for Decision One, and Supervisory Transportation Security Officer for the Department of Homeland Security.

She developed training plans and instruction materials for her unit. This dedication and service resulted in her receiving the Navy Achievement Award and promotion to E-6. After leaving the Navy, Kathy worked for the Transportation Security Administration as a Supervisor in Birmingham, Alabama, and received TSO of the Year in 2011.

She then opened and started several businesses.

Kathy connects with and supports other entrepreneurs through her radio show, “My Business Birmingham.” Kathy has also launched a community initiative called Beyond Startup. This initiative provides small business support to businesses beyond the startup phase. This initiative helps those businesses transition into government contracting and hiring. This initiative is expected to create 120 new jobs in Kathy’s community. She belongs to Birmingham Business Alliance, USBCC, and Ureeka. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga and swimming.
